Edipsos is a town that can be traced far back in history and was frequently referred to in the great works of Aristotle, Plutarch and Strabo. In such works, they all mention the "Herculian Thermae", the place where Hercules would go to regain his powers.  During the time of the Roman occupation, Edipsos flourished and became a well used resort by the prominent Romans of the day.
